Seeing the power and effect of good design is a real motivator for me; when it works, you don’t question it, it fits its purpose. Alongside this, knowing that the projects I am working on serve a greater good and will help or benefit others is an added bonus.
The research and development stages of a creative project are where I really thrive. Using lateral thinking to approach a problem/brief is part of the design process that is such an adventure as it allows a freedom from convention and is full of possibilities. Creating something that is concise, informative and aesthetically appealing to the end user can be challenging with highly detailed change communications, but seeing it rolled out and taking effect is very rewarding.
I love nothing more than spending time with my extended family; rustling up some tasty food and enjoying it together with lots of chat and laughter. I’ve also recently discovered the joy of an early morning walk - the magical feeling of being up and about in the great outdoors whilst most people are still sound asleep (namely my children!)
